KidsFest returns in 2018! {Giveaway of family package}

We've been very supportive of theatre for children as you know and this is because I find the shows not just visually appealing and entertaining, they are also a great way to teach the kids about values, to let the family bond and interact, to be exposed and learn more about cultures and to allow the kids to explore and stretch their imagination.

If you are a support of kids theatre too, GOOD NEWS! KidsFest 2018 will be making its highly anticipated return to Singapore next year from 19 January to 11 February for its seventh run.  Presented by ABA Productions, KidsFest 2018 brings six fantastic productions staged across two venues over four weeks of fabulous family fun. In this post, I'll be sharing with you the line-up for the festival and you can also stand a chance to win tickets to bring your family to your favourite show! Read on to find out how.

THE GRUFFALO

Back by popular demand, The Gruffalo is a family favourite and has been a mainstay since 2013. Join Mouse on a daring adventure through the deep, dark wood in Tall Stories’ magical, musical adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s classic picture book. Searching for hazelnuts, Mouse meets the cunning Fox, the eccentric old Owl and​ ​the​ ​party​ ​mad​ ​Snake. Will the story of the terrifying Gruffalo save Mouse from ending up as dinner for these hungry woodland creatures? After all, there’s no such thing as a Gruffalo​ ​–​ ​is​ ​there?

Do your kids love animals? If so, this is a show you don't want to miss. Join Hairy Maclary and Friends for canine capers and animal adventures, as they bound off the page and onto the stage in this fantastic family production. Meet all your favourite characters such as Hercules Morse, Bottomley Potts, Schnitzel von Krumm, and Scarface Claw. Packed with live music, singing, colourful costumes and some of your favourite Hairy Maclary stories, it will be a fun time singing along and doing the actions with all the characters!

This is one of our favourite books of all time and we never fail to chuckle at the genius plan devised by Ladybird! Join t​wo crafty robbers, one tiny ladybird, and a whole farmyard of fun and laughter. Hefty Hugh and Lanky Len have a cunning plan to steal the farmer’s fine prize cow. But they reckon without the tiniest, quietest creature of all: The Ladybird has a plan​ ​of​ ​her​ ​own! We can't wait to watch this show which is one of the kids' favourites tales and it is being brought to life for the first time at KidsFest! If you are a first-time theatre goer, this enchanting adaptation will be a great way to introduce the wonders of theatre to the kids. Meet the most unusual duckling the pond has ever seen! The baby ducklings’ new brother doesn’t look or quack like them. Teased and called Ugly by his siblings, our hero goes on an adventure in search of a place to fit in. Hans Christian Andersen’s well-known tale comes alive with a menagerie of mischievous animals depicted through inventive physicality and live music that quacks and trills while taking us on a journey to discover the importance​ ​of​ ​identity,​ ​self-worth​ ​and​ ​inner​ ​beauty.

No gruffalo should ever set foot in the deep dark wood… Join the Gruffalo’s Child on her adventurous mission in this magical musical adaptation of the much-loved picture book. One wild and windy night, the Gruffalo’s Child ignores her father’s warnings about the Big Bad Mouse and tiptoes out into the deep dark wood. She follows snowy tracks and encounters mysterious creatures – but the Big Bad Mouse​ ​doesn’t​ ​really​ ​exist...​ ​does​ ​he?
