Sometimes I wonder if girly girl is the right term to describe the two kids I have at home. For starters, they are very much into bugs and insects and have more pluck than Mama when they come face to face with these creatures. Next, they are also fond of sports and outdoor activities, never complaining about playing in sand, dirt or mud. On the other hand, I think about how they like to dress up in beautiful frocks and pretend to doll themselves up with makeup and accessories, and then I figure out they can be considered as girly girls, at times at least.

While we do not have space at home for that many princess costumes or fancy shoes, there is something that I do not mind having more of to make them feel extra girly once in awhile - Hair Accessories. I hope it's not just me when I say that I get tempted to buy those cute little hair clips when I come across them, especially if they sound seemingly cheap and cost less than a couple of dollars. For some reason that I can never figure out, we are always misplacing our hair accessories even though we have a proper drawer for storage. So, at least for now, more hair clips and hair ties are always welcome.

Aren't these super adorable? I love how the bear hair clips look so dainty, come in different colours and can easily match both casual or formal outfits. When Ariel wishes to have on something more dramatic, the princess hair clips will come in handy. The delicate embroidery, striking colours and bigger-than-usual size of these hair clips make them stand out and the fact that they resemble the Disney princesses just explains why these are her favourite of the bunch.

Now, we all know how fast kids grow and as they evolve from a toddler to preschooler, their preferences and tastes in fashion will change over time too. While Angel still likes to put on cute accessories, she also likes to wear something that looks more chic every now and then.

The pink flower hair barrette with a beautiful rose is one of my top picks. It is easy to wear and remove, and is surprisingly light considering its size. I like how it jazzes up any outfit and can make any girl feel like a princess. Now that my girl has shoulder length hair which can be quite challenging to plait, the ribbon hair ties that come in blue and pink makes things more interesting and gives off an elegant look even when her hair is tied simply in side ponytails (yes, I usually don't have the time, or the skills, to tie their hair more elaborately and that is why I am glad for these hair accessories too).

Simple but beautiful, stylish and unique, fashionable yet affordable. These are the reasons why we are loving these new hair accessories and look forward to more creative designs from Glisten Jewel in future.
