Specially for you {Review and Giveaway of Made for Tots}

For those who have known me for a while, you would know that I like to make little gifts for my friends and family. In primary school, I wrote simple, and a little silly sounding, poems for my friends using their names. In secondary school, I made friendship bands for my classmates. During my internship, I made "Thank you" cards for the colleagues who taught me precious lessons. Back in NTU hall days, I would give out coffee, chocolates and personalised notes when exams were nearing. Over the years, the husband has acquired a collection of gifts from me including personalised amigurumi bears, photo frames, printed T-shirts, key chains and cards.

If there is one thing that makes a gift stand out, in my opinion, it has to be a personalised one. Yes, I do mean it has to bear the receiver's name or at least initials on it. It is a way to show your sincerity and just a little more effort makes the gift become truly one of a kind.

When it comes to my kids, apart from labeling their belongings like pencil cases and water bottles with personalised stickers, I have also tried to make gifts that bear their names on them, including hair clips, stroller plates, matching shirts and considering how mediocre my sewing skills are, a Hello Kitty coin purse made from felt was probably already stretching my limits.

The first time I heard about Made for Tots, I was excited to learn about the two mums who created it because I share both their passion for kids and for personalised products. I think it's brilliant that they have taken it to the next level and turn it into a business while at the same time delighting kids around the world with these lovely gifts. Check out these personalised items we received from them.

1) Art tote bag

This uniquely designed bag fits 16 art and craft accessories on the outside and measures 9.5”x 7.5”. I think the highlight of the bag is the eye-catching, cute pink flower that comes with the initial A' - for Angel, of course!

At first, I found the bag to be a little small but then I soon realised that it is a perfect size for my four-year-old to carry by herself. It fits her crayons and a small sketch book nicely, so my little art lover is thrilled to bring it when we go out nowadays and she can doodle anytime she likes.

2) Single pocket pouch

This simple but pretty looking pouch comes with a personalised name and applique of your choice. Measuring 6”x 10”, it serves as a multi-purpose pouch perfect for a toddler to keep his/her favourite toys, accessories or secret stash.

In addition, I think it is a great way to teach your child to recognise his/her name and learn to open and close a zipper too!

One thing to take note for the bags and pouches is that no washing is allowed! Not by machine, not by hand, not even soak - which means that you can only wipe any stained area with a damp cloth. That can be pretty tricky when it involves kids but I can only hope we will try best to keep these items clean.

3) Personalised bath towels

Lastly, Ariel also received a personalised fabric lined bath towel with monogram while Angel got a premium bath towel with applique and name. Made of 100% cotton, these towels are soft to touch and delicate on baby's skin, making them popular choices as gifts for baby showers and birthdays.

Not surprisingly, the girls were delighted with their new towels and couldn't wait to wrap themselves up. I love how their names stand out and somehow, personalised belongings just feel so much more endearing. The texture and quality of these towels also exceeded my expectations and guess what, they can be machine washed (gently, of course)! *phew*
