Her first cut

No, I'm not referring to the kind of cut that makes you wounded. Though my girl has done that more than a couple of times.

Let's see. Remember the time when she had to suffer five stitches on her ear? Or the time when she played with the sharpener and took her finger for a pencil?

Today, it's about her first ever haircut. In a salon.

Yeap, she miraculously agreed to go and have a haircut over the weekend when we were shopping. That is, after rejecting me umpteen times for the past few weeks as she couldn't bear to part with her tresses.

You know, she looked so endearing there and then that I couldn't help but snap away like a zealous paparazzi.

And the best part? She was a perfect angel throughout, never fidgeted an inch, tilted her head accordingly and closed her eyes when she was asked to.

Was I a proud mum? You bet.

I was also amazed at how salons cater to kids nowadays with the kid-friendly car chair, cartoon playing on the TV and the cutesy, colourful cape.

Ok, a haircut isn't really a big thing. But well, thinking about it, I had been her hairdresser since she was born and so, seeing my girl sitting alone on the salon chair and smiling sweetly at me, it did mean something to me. She's really growing up. Fast.

I was debating whether or not to cut her fringe short after letting it grow for the past few months. Well, let's just say I got tired of having to tie or clip it every morning so that she did not need to squint. And on a more selfish note, I wanted her hair to look like mine. *sly grin*

So, how do you like her final look?

Me? Well, I think she absolutely rocks it.

  2. That's a lovely photo of the both of you :)

My little girl is still terrified of hair cuts and she just had a bad one where her fringe was cut somewhat too short and crooked cos she was trying to escape the clutches of the evil hairdresser!
